The Magpie Robin
Whenever I am all alone,
I think of you, my cherished friend.
You stayed beside me as I worked,
And never left me till the end.
You were with me throughout the day,
While I cleaned the garden with care.
I miss you more than words can say..
Your gentle songs still fill the air.
You sang so sweetly next to me,
And made my lonely moments bright.
But now you are so far away,
While I am here alone right now.
I wish I had a friend once more,
To talk with me and stay nearby..
A friend as kind and true as you,
My dear magpie-robin, always nigh.
